Josh, let's first get to know you a little better. What words describe you best?
Creative, optimistic, engaging, determined, loyal, compassionate

Music can say a lot about a person, what would you consider to be the soundtrack of your life?

Make Your Own Kind of Music - The Mamas & The Papas

This Mama & The Papas song was our wedding dance song. I love this song because it is about claiming and celebrating your authentic self even when it feels hard to do.

Let's get a little serious. What is your aim as you move forward in life?

To be able to live a conscious and creative life where I can use my skills and talents to serve & build a better world that affirms that all lives matter equally.

Now it's time to talk design. What is your creative process?

In design I believe you must be open to the new and respect the classical. Warmth flows out of relatable design that seeks to understand the context. The process MUST begin with a deep understanding of client's organizational purpose and vision first. We try to support original cra and design whenever possible and appropriate. The designs we create today will determine our legacy in the future.

I disagree with the notion that there needs to be a hard division between the commercial and the residential. As long as performance requirements are met, why can't healthcare and workplace environments incorporate some of the warmth and welcome of the home?

Yes to original art! Yes to personality! And yes, yes to spaces that invite moments of relaxation, informal collaboration and community.

TARA PRICE - Senior Interior Designer

Tara, how did you come to join the design field?

I have always liked design, color, space, and how it all makes sense together. I started college thinking I would be a child psychologist or a teacher. By my second year I knew Interior Design was where I belonged. In healthcare design, I have fifteen years of experience and I like the creative process.

I like to make decisions and move on to the next “problem” to solve.

I also do not like redundancy. Keep it moving!

Let's get to know you a little better. What words describe you best?

Reliable, easy-going, friendly

Music can say a lot about a person, what would you consider to be the soundtrack of your life?

All You Need Is Love - The Beatles

My dad loved The Beatles. He had all of the records. When I hear them now it is pure nostalgia to my childhood in Florida. My dad has passed so this song in particular makes me smile when I hear it. Now I get to listen to it with my children.

Let's get a little serious. What is your aim as you move forward in life?

To be happy and fulfilled and to raise my boys to have the same opportunities to feel the same.

MITRA NOORBAKHSH - Senior Interior Architect

BACKGROUND: Bachelor of Interior Architecture with Honors from the University of Arts, School of Architecture (Tehran,Iran). Currently leading architectural design AT DMG.

Mitra, let's first get to know you a little better. What words describe you best?
Creative & energetic

Many aspects of life contribute to who we are. Which cultural icon or historical figure do you look up to?

I consider my father a cultural icon and historical figure that many people outside of my family refer to. He represents many things to me – an incredibly cultured intellectual whom I could ask anything of and receive answers better than any encyclopedia; a historical icon, as he went to college in Germany during the World War II, and best of all, a loving father whom I look up to always. I wouldn’t want it any other way!

Let's get a little serious. What is your aim as you move forward in life?

My life goal is my family’s happiness, health, and success, and maybe buy a house in Tuscany : )

Now it's time to talk design. What is your creative process?

My most sacred, and number one rule – the client is #1, and they know their own business. It is of the utmost importance to me that during design development my team and I keep this in mind, while providing creative solutions to their needs. Creatively, everything for me always starts with a sketch.

Don’t let technology put you in a box!

In that way, now that everything is so digital and technology-driven, I “break” the rules now by going back to the basics. I love referring to actual drawings and showing clients things by hand. There’s a real art to it, and I don’t think I could ever abandon that.

RACHEL BOYLE - Interior Designer

BACKGROUND: BACHELOR OF fine arts IN INTERIOR DESIGN AT virginia commonwealth UNIVERSITY AND INTERIOR DESIGNER AT DMG.

Rachel, what is your creative process?

We are often approached by physicians or hospital groups that are looking for some creative direction to a new project. They may not know what they want or need. I think what I focus on, and truly try to be the best at, is providing that creative direction and knowledge to help determine the needs of each individual client.

Because I am solely Healthcare focused, the concept of healing design is very sacred to me.

Obviously we want to create a space that uses Lean practices for the staff, but we also want the patients to be a priority. The patient experience from start to finish, is what motivates me every day. My rules are fairly simple: Never sacrifice comfort and convenience for Aesthetics. I know that sounds crazy coming from a designer, but really in the grand scheme of things, what is better? A nurse station that is symmetrical or a nurse station that is visible and accessible?

Let's get to know you a little better. What words describe you best?

Determined, Loyal, Dedicated, Fiesty, Humorous

Music can say a lot about a person, what would you consider to be the soundtrack of your life?

Don't Stop Me Now - Queen

My parents have always been rock n'roll fans; as young children, they would put on the Queen Greatest Hits album, and my sister and I would put on our light up shoes and dance around the living room in the dark.

Let's get a little serious. What is your aim as you move forward in life?

My goal is to improve other people's lives; I have the unique opportunity to be able to do that through my profession.

What is your creative process?

Two rules for me is space efficiency and creation of visual connections between rooms in order to create logical and understandable spaces.
